Male Pectoral Implants for Muscular Chest

Share Button

Despite extensive exercise and dieting, most men find that they cannot achieve the prominent, muscular chest muscle they desire. That’s why pectoral implants are growing in popularity. These solid silicone implants placed within the chest offer the opportunity to improve the chest, overall physique, symmetry, and self-image. They help men achieve a thicker, fuller chest without having to spend hours at the gym.

The procedure is ideal for men who have

  • An underdeveloped chest
  • Unevenness in chest muscles on either side
  • Deficiency or absence of pectoral muscles

Candidates should be healthy and not have medical conditions such as heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and skin or connective tissue problems.

Chest Implant Surgery for Men

The procedure is usually performed on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia. The soft, high grade implants come in different sizes and shapes. At the consultation, the plastic surgeon will perform a physical examination and guide the patient in choosing the most appropriate option.

Pectoral implants are inserted via a small incision in the cavity of the armpit. A pocket is made between the pectoralis major muscle and the rib cage for the placement of the implants.  The implant is fitted completely under the existing muscle in most cases. Results are immediately visible.

Pectoral implants are not like female breast implants. They are solid, yet soft and strong, and will not break or leak. Since the incision is made in the armpit rather than on the chest wall, the surgical scars remain hidden.

After Surgery

After the surgical procedure, some soreness and bruising in the chest area is typical and patients will be advised to wear an elastic bandage or vest to reduce swelling. There are numerous pain fibers in the muscle and many patients report pain for at least a week.  Taking pain medications prescribed by the surgeon can help. Gentle arm raising movements may begin soon after the surgery, but regular lower body exercise is normally advised only after a few weeks. It may take up to six weeks to recover from the surgery, and complete healing may take several months.

As with any surgical procedure, this one also involves certain risks and complications. Closely following the surgeon’s instructions, both before and after surgery, will help minimize these issues.

A skilled and experienced plastic surgeon can create or recreate a natural looking chest with pectoral implants. Ensure that the procedure is performed in an AAAASF accredited surgical practice with advanced resources.  Reliable plastic surgeons will ensure safe procedures and work closely with patients to produce optimal results.
