Contrary to the concept that women are the ones mainly opting for cosmetic surgery procedures, recent studies show that more men are utilizing the advancements in the cosmetic surgery field. Former president of the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery, Dr Russell Knudsen recently pointed out that men are seeking cosmetic procedures to look younger to improve their job opportunities or to stay on top of their field. According to the report regarding this in the Daily Telegraph, appearance matters a lot when it comes to getting a job, especially when individuals seeking job are above 40 years. Moreover, men are now more conscious of the necessity to stay beautiful, fresh and happy.
According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, in the US, the number of men appearing for cosmetic surgery procedures has seen a rise up to 22 percent during the period 2000 – 2012. More of men would be looking forward to benefiting from various cosmetic procedures such as the following, mainly drawn by the prospect of enjoying a boost in self confidence, as Geofrey Lyons, President of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons, points out.
- Breast Reduction
- Face Lift
- Brow Lift
- Nose Surgery
- Thigh lift
- Tummy Tuck
- Ear Surgery
Lyons also observed that a younger and fresher look would help men in the workforce and socially.
Cosmetic surgery is no doubt, an effective way of addressing various aesthetic issues of the body. The most important considerations are the plastic surgeon performing the procedure and the plastic surgery facility where it will be performed.
