How Paula Abdul Gets Ready for Her Dazzling Performance

International pop icon Paula Abdul who is also now a brand ambassador of InMode Ltd, a prominent medical technology company, has shared via parade.com how she gets ready for her performance — from meditating to scheduling self-care on her calendar.

How Paula Abdul Gets Ready for Her Dazzling PerformanceThe “Cold Hearted” singer was currently prepping for her new Las Vegas residency, “Paula Abdul: Forever Your Girl,” at the Flamingo Hotel and Casino on August 13 where she had put on the hard work, starting each day before the sun and going until late at night. She admits that being on stage takes work. Fortunately for her, dancing is still just as meaningful, because it is something she’s done since she was just 8 years old. For her, dance is one of the most precious gifts of her life and it largely contributes to aging gracefully. She shares her positive outlook to aging — “I feel like I’m aging as gracefully as one can be, with a healthy outlook. Dancing with passion everyday keeps that going. Aging is inevitable, and I haven’t really put too much pressure on it.”

In an exclusive interview with Parade.com, the 57-year-old singer opened up about how she makes time for self-care i.e. how she schedules it, how she stays in shape, mentally and physically for the performances and more.

  • Preparations for Performance: The pop idol says that she does lots of stretching, Pilates, yoga, and massages, and also gets a lot of rest in between performances and rehearsals. However, rehearsal, mentally and physically, is a vital part of preparing to perform and is sacred because it brings the team together for the love and sharing of dance (parade.com). She also opened up about the treatments she got from InMode’s BodyTite and FaceTite to tighten her arms and lower face, to look as good as she feels when she is up there on that stage. Moreover, wanting to avoid traditional cosmetic surgery, Paula looked for a non-invasive option to address her concerns and found InMode and its BodyTite and FaceTite technology.
  • Fitness choices: According to a report from PEOPLE, the 57-year-old singer and dancer is far from slowing down as she has to treat her body well to keep going day after day. Abdul told PEOPLE that, “It’s very physically intense. I get up at 6 and I work with my trainer for an hour and a half. Then I go to rehearsals at about a quarter to 9. We do a warm-up and then we dance. We go from about 9:45 until 7 p.m., and we take one day off.” She describes her workout routine which includes a lot of stretching and back and core work (if her trainer is around). She says, “even though I’m dancing all day I often do straight cardio just so that I’m conditioning my body. And after each performance I usually get in an ice-cold tub. It’s not fun! It shocks your body, but it helps with inflammation.”

More than any other fitness workouts, Abdul loves dance fitness, especially cardio dance. This dance fuses so many styles such as ballet, salsa, hip-hop, jazz and contemporary. One of her other favorites is Pilates, which is great for strengthening the core, for training the correct use of muscles, and for overall good posture.spero and paula

  • She follows a low-alkaline diet: The Parade report says that Paula Abdul follows a low-alkaline diet, which helps her minimize inflammation in her body. She told people.com, “When you have RSD, the best thing to do is lower your acidity to slow inflammation, so I follow a low alkaline diet. I don’t like following diets but I try to keep the acidity down because that’s what causes flares up in my body.”
  • Making time for self-care: By proper scheduling and keeping the appointment, she makes time for self-care. For her, self-care is listening to her body and resting, playing with her dogs, meditation and affirmations.
  • Unwinding after a show: After a performance, Abdul’s own personal gratitude is to get quiet, stretch and meditate. She would let herself feel grateful about the entire performance, and everything and everyone that had to do with it:  the gorgeous Flamingo venue, her talented dancers, their rehearsals, the phenomenal crew, the audience, every moment of the performance, and so on, which not only helps her unwind, but it also fills her heart and energizes her in a peaceful way.
  • Plans for off days: She loves to get in touch with her family and friends by visiting them and seeing what everyone’s doing and would plan a family barbeque or a movie.
  • Her positive affirmations: For Paula, pain is also a mental battle that helps her build confidence. She looks to certain positive affirmations to strengthen her mental health and some of her favorite messages are (parade.com):
    • You can’t get to where you want to be unless you can accept where you’re at.
    • Whatever your plans are today, smile, say hello, and open the door for someone.
    • Just “Stick to it”–whatever your goals and dreams are for this day, this week, this year, this life.
    • What you don’t like, only you have the power to change.
    • If you avoid situations where you might be told ‘”No,” how will you get to your “Yes?” This so-called rejection process is part of success.
    • When taking care of others, don’t forget to nurture yourself. You cannot give if you yourself have been depleted.
    • Give yourself a quiet moment alone today and just breathe. Remember, there’s power in pause.

However, apart from all this self-care, sometimes you may require cosmetic surgery to improve your looks, confidence and self-assurance. For instance, Paula Abdul required InMode’s BodyTite and FaceTite technology for her arm and lower face. Excited by her results, Paula says, “I am proud to get the word out about what InMode’s amazing technology in face and body rejuvenation can do for people like me who notice the inevitable effects of natural aging. While maintaining a healthy lifestyle of fitness and skincare routines, I still wanted more definition and tighter, firmer skin at my jawline and arms – and InMode’s BodyTite and FaceTite helped me restore a sleeker, more youthful look without invasive cosmetic surgery. I am very pleased with the results!”

Paula Abdul is bringing her renewed feeling of confidence and self-assurance to others who want the same benefits.

RealSelf releases Report on 2019 Aesthetics Trends

RealSelfBody contouring in NYC has been growing in popularity as an effective option to treat stubborn fat pockets, sagging skin and cellulite that are resistant to even stringent diets and rigorous exercise. With the rise of social media and a plethora of scientific and practical breakthroughs, industry experts have predicted that many new procedures will drive the aesthetic market in 2019. Real Self’s recently published 2019 Aesthetics Trend Report and 2019 Aesthetic watch list noted that consumer interest in minimally invasive cosmetic treatments outpaced interest in surgical treatments last year (CISION PR Newswire).

RealSelf’s 2018 Aesthetics Trend Report was compiled by analyzing user behavior trends of U.S. consumers researching on RealSelf that year. RealSelf’s 2019 report discusses trends that RealSelf analysts and medical experts predict would be big in 2019. Here are the trends featured in RealSelf’s 2019 aesthetic watch list:

  • The Year of the Toxins: This year, there was a lot of interest in preventative treatments and “baby Botox”. Though Botox smoothes wrinkles and fights early signs of aging, results are temporary. In 2018, it was reported that millennials in their 20s and 30s are staying ahead of the game by choosing to have preventative Botox to keep wrinkles from forming in the first place. According to RealSelf’s latest report, interest in Botox is increasing the fastest among 18- to 24-year-old RealSelf users. While Botox is leading the neuromodulator market today, it could face competition from new entrants such as Revance and Evolus.
  • Less Invasive Alternatives to Traditional Procedures: RealSelf’s survey indicates that there is a growing demand for nonsurgical treatments that are less invasive. Unlike traditional surgery with long downtimes, less invasive alternatives allow patients to quickly return to normal routine. Emsculpt, stimulates forced muscle contractions to cause muscle growth, is being touted as first nonsurgical buttock toning procedure. Another example is off-label use of fillers such as Sculptra Aesthetic. This FDA-approved to treat facial wrinkles saw 31 percent interest growth on RealSelf last year, and the report notes that many physicians are now using the injectable for buttock augmentation.
  • Expanded Conversations about Modern Beauty: Social media posts by celebrities and other influencers about their real-life treatment experiences have reduced the stigma around the cosmetic procedures. People are now exposed to more information about advancements in technology and techniques, and now have the ability to choose procedures that can provide them with the best results.

The desire for “instant gratification” is one of the key drivers of the demand for nonsurgical cosmetic treatments. People look for immediate results like a lunch hour transformation or better. Another catalyst in the quest for instant gratification is the selfie trend. Most social media users, especially millennials, have become more image-conscious than ever before and want to look good in every selfie they click. Fox News recently reported that “selfie awareness” is pushing people to take it one step further by undergoing aesthetics procedures to alter their looks. KYBELLA in NYC, a popular nonsurgical treatment, is an ideal option for people looking to resolve a double chin and look good in their selfies.

RealSelf: Latest Annual Aesthetics Trend Report 2018

A good appearance can go a long way in making you feel good. It also makes you feel more confident about yourself. With a number of safe and effective aesthetic procedures provided now at reputable plastic surgery centers in the United States, many men and women are considering these solutions to improve their appearance. RealSelf, the world’s leading online website to learn about cosmetic treatments and connect with plastic surgeons and other clinicians, has released a new report that reveals the latest annual trends related to consumer interest in elective cosmetic treatments.RealSelf

A CISION PR Newswire report announced the release of RealSelf’s 2018 Aesthetics Trend Report that was compiled by analyzing user behavior trends of U.S. consumers researching on RealSelf that year. Even though the demand for surgical procedures has remained high over the years, since the year 2015, consumer interest in minimally invasive treatments has surpassed the interest in surgical treatment options. As millions of consumers are visiting RealSelf to research these aesthetic treatments every year, the details are well compiled for future reference.

The report points out that popular treatments like Botox and Breast augmentation continue to rank among the most researched overall. According to a RealSelf Chief Medical Officer and board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Lara Devgan, “Breast augmentation and Botox have been around for a very long time and both treatments have a high level of consumer awareness. Furthermore, there has been a recent emphasis on smaller doses at younger ages, meaning that it looks more natural than in any previous era. This, along with social sharing trends, has reduced stigma and made it more mainstream”.

The surgeon also points out that the advancements in technology have expanded minimally invasive treatment options and it has helped to make aesthetic procedures more accessible to women and men of all ages. Moreover, the growth of minimally invasive procedures reflects the rising interest in treatment options that deliver results with little downtime, and the trends they have observed on RealSelf indicate this demand would continue to rise in 2019.

Many women who are concerned about the appearance of their breasts opt to have cosmetic surgery such as breast augmentation in Manhattan to enhance volume, correct asymmetry, and reshape the breasts to make them firmer and rounder. Due to its popularity, the procedure became the topmost plastic surgery performed in the year 2017 in the U.S. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), breast augmentation retained its position as the top cosmetic surgical procedure in 2017 and up to 300,378 procedures were performed that year. This augmentation procedure can be performed using two techniques – using FDA-approved implants (saline, silicone, gummy bear and IDEAL implants) that are inserted through an incision and placed above or below the chest muscle or via composite breast augmentation which involves fat grafting combined with implants for a better outcome.

Another treatment most searched for is Botox, a cosmetic injection that is very popular among Americans who wish to look as young as they feel. The Food and Drug Administration approved Botox in 2002 for cosmetic use and it has steadily grown in popularity over the years. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons statistics shows that Botox injections increased by 2% from 2016 – 2017, where 7,230,967 injections were performed in 2017. Botox is a popular way to fight the signs of aging, and smoothes wrinkles though the results are temporary. And now there is a new option on the scene – preventative Botox. According to a recent Fox News report, millennials in their 20s and 30s are staying ahead of the game by choosing to have preventative Botox to keep wrinkles from forming.

When considering any of these procedures for body contouring in NYC, choose an AAAASF-accredited plastic surgery practice that provides the service of expert plastic surgeons. Such surgeons would be skilled and well-trained in the procedures you are looking for, and you would also be able to comfortably discuss your aesthetic concerns. The right surgeon will evaluate your candidature for the treatment and recommend the best solution to achieve your goals.

bodySCULPT® Surgeon Dr. Spero J. Theodorou Performed a Live Surgery Session at the Aesthetic Surgery Symposium 2018

Aesthetic SurgeryDr. Spero J. Theodorou, MD, founder and Surgical Director of bodySCULPT®, performed a Live Surgery session, Arm Sculpting with Radiofrequency, using InMode’s BodyTite Platform at the 5th Live Makeover Aesthetic Surgery Symposium, 2018. The symposium was held in Athens, Greece, on the 31st of August, 1st & 2nd of September 2018.

Live Makeover is a meeting that celebrates plastic surgery and aims at presenting to participants live multiple surgeries on selected patients, providing them with a complete makeover. The meeting’s educational value is further enhanced by the inspiring lectures delivered by expert plastic surgeons and ENT surgeons.

Organized by the European College of Aesthetic Medicine & Surgery (ECAMS), the 5th Symposium had international faculty from America, Europe, Middle East and Oceania on their panel. The cornerstone of the meeting was the Live Surgery sessions performed by renowned surgeons and the participants got an opportunity to watch 13 live surgeries, live patient injections, as well as many presentations. This Symposium was granted 24 European CME credits (ECMEC®s) by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®).

Invented by bodySCULPT surgeons Dr. Spero J. Theodorou and Dr. Christopher T. Chia, arm sculpting with radiofrequency is an innovative FDA-approved technique that can provide you with smooth, shapely arms without the visible scars typically associated with traditional arm lift surgery. The minimally invasive procedure, BodyTite™ on arms (ArmTite), is performed using the BodyTite radiofrequency-assisted liposuction (RFAL) platform.

The procedure removes unwanted fat pockets and tightens the excess skin between the underarm and elbow. It can provide your upper arms with a toned, youthful look, with minimal side effects and discomfort, and importantly, no visible scars. The procedure begins with administering local anesthesia to the treatment area. A tiny incision is then made on the upper arm skin to insert the cannula used for BodyTite treatment. The RF energy delivered via the cannula gently liquefies the unwanted fat cells, allowing them to be easily removed. This procedure is a boon to many patients with its minimum downtime and speedy recovery compared to the conventional technique.

Dr. Theodorou was also a moderator for distinct live surgeries such as Face & Neck Lift, Short Scar Facelift, Brazilian Butt Lift and Facelift, and Sculpting the Fat Neck performed by other international faculty. He lectured on the topics “High Lateral Tension Abdominoplasty”, “Arms Sculpting with RFAL”, “Flank Sculpting with VASER” and “Brazilian Butt Lift under Local Anesthesia”. Earlier, during the fourth Live Makeover meeting, Dr. Theodorou had performed Brazilian Butt lift.

Based in Manhattan, NYC, bodySCULPT® is a leading plastic surgery practice dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of care and offering patients the best in plastic surgery procedures. The facility’s mission is to bring out the natural beauty in each patient and improve the quality of their lives by providing personalized care and support.

bodySCULPT Surgeons Interviewed on Modern Medicine’s The Aesthetics Channel Regarding InMode’s BodyTite

bodySCULPT SurgeonsAn interview with Manhattan, NY-based plastic surgeons Spero J. Theodorou, MD., and Christopher T. Chia, M.D., was featured on The Aesthetic Channel on 6th August 2018. Responding to the Aesthetic Channel’s question on the topic, the surgeons elaborated on the “body sculpting treatment gap” that some patients experience. A supplement article written by Dr. Theodorou and Dr. Chia was published earlier in the May 2018 issue of the Aesthetic Surgery Journal that highlighted how using electromagnetic energy with Inmode’s BodyTite radiofrequency-assisted liposuction device offers a needed option for patients who have previously fallen into a body sculpting treatment gap. You can read details regarding this publication in one of our earlier blogs.

These surgeons who practice at NYC-based bodySCULPT®, gave The Aesthetic Channel overall details of the FDA-cleared BodyTite device for lipolysis and contraction of the dermis. Explaining the “treatment gap” terminology, Dr. Theodorou drew attention to the large number of “in between” patients who come in this gap category. Clinically, these patients are “not bad enough for an excisional procedure and not good enough for liposuction.” He pointed out how some patients may be too young to undergo such a procedure in terms of skin laxity, or the quality of their skin is not bad enough for a scar. However, they want a solution to address their concerns such as soft tissue laxity, adiposity and aging. Apart from loose skin, they might have excess fat, but their skin laxity precludes them from undergoing liposuction. Radiofrequency-assisted liposuction can effectively address this current therapeutic gap, Dr. Theodorou affirmed.

bodySCULPT SurgeonsResponding to The Aesthetic Channel’s question on how radiofrequency-assisted liposuction was different from other options available to surgeons, Dr. Theodorou explained how as a minimally invasive option, this procedure offers more skin contraction, often up to 40%, than other options on the market. In fact, it is one of the most published technologies with more than 20 peer-reviewed North American clinical papers as well as clinical studies. Dr. Chia added, “BodyTite, FaceTite (Inmode) and radiofrequency-assisted liposuction have been subjects in multiple peer-reviewed clinical publications over the past eight years showing safety and efficacy.”

Dr. Chia mentioned how “In the hands a properly trained and skilled surgeon, there are reduced risks as the technology has built-in safeguards, such as thermal temperature monitoring and automatic cutoff of energy.” Temperature sensors embedded in the internal cannula and external electrode provide constant feedback throughout the treatment. He emphasized that “there is no substitute for a judicious surgeon who is able to carefully monitor and treat a patient. Experience is key in treatment outcomes.”

Dr. Chia also offered tips for achieving optimal outcomes with BodyTite radiofrequency-assisted liposuction. The clinical and practical safeguards of the platform not only maximize safety but also target how effectively the heat is applied. It ensures that the areas being treated are within the therapeutic range for optimal soft tissue contraction to avoid undertreatment. He said, “A safe, reproducible and effective approach includes identifying a specific area for treatment, heating both the internal and external temps (a BodyTite proprietary hallmark) to their respective therapeutic range for a predetermined amount of time. The unique and elegant design of bipolar directional electrocautery device is the only one in the industry where the external and internal soft tissues are simultaneously heated to elicit increased collagenesis. Coupled with the local anesthesia option, patients can also enjoy the benefits of even greater safety, shorter recovery and financial advantages with equivalent or better results achievable with traditional modes of anesthesia.”

These bodySCULPT® surgeons who have years of experience in performing this procedure and are inventors of the Scarless Arm Lift procedure (BodyTite on Arms), say that only an experienced plastic surgeon who is sensitive to patient requirements and attaches top priority to patient safety and care, can provide safe treatment and attractive and long-lasting body sculpting results.

bodySCULPT® based in Manhattan, NYC, is introducing EmbraceRF, a breakthrough procedure in facial augmentation and rejuvenation of the neck. This innovative scarless facial contouring solution provides superior contouring of the face and neck using a combination of InMode’s proprietary technologies: FaceTite and FDA approved Morpheus8. EmbraceRF is an exciting one-time procedure with minimal downtime and permanent results.

EmbraceRF combines FaceTite and Morpheus8 to provide the best outcomes for lower face contouring. FaceTite utilizes RFAL (Radio-Frequency Assisted Lipolysis) to provide superior internal and external liposuction and three-dimensional remodeling of the fibrous tissues. The  combination  of  fat  being  left  strategically  behind  to  contour  the  lower  face  and  neck  is  further  augmented  by  InMode’s newly  cleared  FDA approved Subdermal  Adipose  Remodeling  Device  (SARD): Morpheus8.

The EmbraceRF technique was developed by Dr. Spero Theodorou of bodySCULPT and Dr. Paolo Rovatti with Inmode’s, proprietary technology Morpheus8 and Facetite. Blending FaceTite and Morpheus8, EmbraceRF delivers radiofrequency (RF) energy to “mold” the fat of the face in strategic positions and address aging facial features and face laxity with natural looking results. This treatment improves the jaw line, rejuvenates the neck and tightens the skin in the neck and jowls, while retaining the fullness necessary to maintain a youthful appearance.

This groundbreaking treatment involves no incisions or scars and can be performed under local anesthesia. Millennials Turning to Preventative Botox to Ward off Wrinkles

BotoxIt’s no secret that social media is one of the reasons why an increasing number of people are choosing to have a facelift in NYC. A facelift can take years off your face with long-lasting outcomes. Another popular way to fight the signs of aging, Botox smoothes wrinkles though the results are temporary. And now there is a new option on the scene – preventative Botox. According to a recent Fox News report, millennials in their 20s and 30s are staying ahead of the game by choosing to have preventative Botox to keep wrinkles from forming.

Botox or Botulinum Toxin Type A is a nonsurgical cosmetic procedure that enjoys tremendous popularity largely because of the excellent aesthetic results it offers. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) reported that the year 2017 saw 7.2 million iBotox injections, an increase of 2% from 2016. In this selfie era and social-media obsessed world, it’s not surprising to see millennials turning to preventative Botox to look their best. ASPS also confirmed this trend — Botox procedures increased 28 percent since 2010 among 20 to 29-year-olds.

What exactly does Botox do? Botox temporarily paralyzes the muscles that cause frown lines and reduces crow’s feet wrinkles. The treatment can also lift the brows, help turn up the lips and soften the chin area. Used correctly, Botox can dramatically reduce early and moderate signs of aging. The effects typically wear off in three to six months.

The idea underlying preventative Botox is to treat the more frequently used facial muscles to avoid getting wrinkles and fine lines. It works by relaxing the muscle and also the overlying skin so that wrinkles do not form. There’s no specific age to start getting Botox and if you traces of lines or wrinkles appear in the 20s or 30s, then it’s better to start the treatment.  The sooner you treat the signs of aging, the better your results will be. The benefits for early users of Botox are:

  • They may not need fillers or more invasive procedures that are required to treat deep creases in patients who start Botox in their 40s or 50s.
  • People who continue using Botox may need only less Botox as they get older.
  • Cheaper for younger patients as they need only lesser amount of the injection

Concerns relating to skin tone and texture imperfections can be addressed by nonsurgical procedures such as Botox, dermal fillers and laser resurfacing.

Millennials seeking preventative Botox should find a plastic surgeon who has experience in catering to younger clientele. A skilled surgeon would know how to use Botox appropriately and inject the right doses to provide subtle, natural looking results. It is important to steer clear of heavily discounted treatments performed by unqualified or inexperienced providers.

Wrinkles caused by sun damage and gravity will not respond to Botox, and in such cases, comprehensive facial rejuvenation procedures would be needed. A facelift in NYC can address sagging, creases below the lower eyelids, creases along the nose extending to the corner of the mouth, facial fat, jowls and a double chin. Today, the conventional surgical facelift is competing with minimally-invasive procedures such as the mini facelift, S-lift, neck lift, or endoscopic facelift. Modern facelift techniques are subtle and can be customized to suit the needs of the individual patient.

Global Breast Implants Market to Touch US$ 1482.1 Million by 2024

Breast Implants Market to Touch US$ 1482.1 Million by 2024Most women place a lot of importance on physical appearance and many turn to plastic surgery to achieve their goals. For instance, the demand for breast augmentation in New York City has increased over the years. In fact, according to the latest annual report of the American Society of Plastic surgeons, breast augmentation was among the top cosmetic surgical procedures in 2017 along with liposuction and nose reshaping. Persistence Market Research predicted that the global breast implants market is likely to attain a 4.1% Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) over the assessment period from 2016 to 2024 and will reach US $ 1482.1 million by the end of 2024.

Women opt to have breast augmentation for various reasons: to enlarge breasts that are naturally small in size, reinstate size and shape after breastfeeding or excessive weight loss, and to address asymmetry. Augmentation mammoplasty, as the procedure is also called, involves surgery to place a breast implant under the chest muscles or breast tissue. Leading NYC plastic surgeons help women achieve their aesthetic goals using FDA-approved saline and silicone gel implants.

A Global Market Insights (GMI) breast implants market report (2013-2014) published in August 2017 provided an analysis of the market based on product type (saline or silicone), shape (round, teardrop), application, end user (hospitals, cosmetic surgery practices) and region. The findings of the report are as follows:

  • By Product: Silicone gel implants dominated the market in the year 2016 and the report predicted that the trend would continue over the forecast years. With silicone-gel breast implants, there is less wrinkling or rippling, and importantly, they offer natural-looking outcomes. However, the report noted that their comparatively higher cost and larger incision required for insertion might discourage demand.
  • By Shape: Breast implant shapes include round and teardrop. Round breast implants accounted for the larger share of the market in 2016. Their ability to give round, soft and proportioned breasts and availability in a range of diameters and degrees of projections offer a great deal of flexibility to fit any body type. Moreover, the round shape addresses the problem of rotation. But the report predicted that the disadvantage of superior pole fullness in women with small breasts would restrain the growth of this type of implant during the forecast period.
