Breast AugmentationBreast augmentation is one of the most widely demanded cosmetic surgical procedures in NYC. As this is a surgical procedure that involves placing implants in the breast pocket, proper post-operative care is crucial for smooth recovery. Though you may want to get back to your routine activity and exercise soon, it’s important to not to rush. The goal should be to exercise in moderation till you heal completely. In fact, exercising in moderation will ensure that your body heals well with reduced risks for infection, scar tissue and stretch marks.

Working out is necessary to maintain your fitness, but you should give your body ample time to heal before you resume your normal exercise routine. Every woman recovers at their own pace after breast implant surgery. So you should to listen to your body very carefully and get back to an active lifestyle at a slow pace. Strenuous activity should be avoided for the first two weeks as it can elevate your heart rate and blood pressure and increase the risk of bleeding or swelling.

Start off slowly with light activities and gradually improve the level based on what your body can tolerate. The more time you take to recuperate, the better will your results. However, this doesn’t mean that you should sit idle. You should get involved in light activities such as walking right from the initial stage, maybe two days or so after the surgery. Some surgeons allow the patients to do aerobic exercises within 2-3 weeks after the surgery. But make sure that there is no chest exercises such as push-ups, bench presses or even yoga that involves chest work until complete recovery.

There are no absolute guidelines when it comes to exercising after breast augmentation. Different surgeons have varied opinions and in most cases, it depends on individual considerations. In general, it is best to avoid vigorous exercises for about two weeks after surgery and go back to your normal routine gradually.

Once you recover completely, regular exercise and a proper diet are crucial for weight management, fitness, and to maintain the results. Following your surgeon’s instructions on exercise after breast augmentation will protect your investment and allow your body to heal, avoiding complications and unnecessary problems.
