An Effective Nighttime Routine To Pamper Your Skin

Skin

After a busy day, bedtime can seem like pure bliss. But before you go to bed, find time to pamper your skin. Your skin can become dull and tired after a hectic day. Sticking to a proper skin care routine every night can rejuvenate and refresh your skin and keep it healthy and glowing day after day.

Nighttime Skincare Tips

  1. Remove makeup

Remove your makeup before going to bed. Your skin rejuvenates itself when you sleep. However, if you sleep with makeup on, it becomes a hurdle for this process as oily substances in cosmetics can cause damage and result in acne and blackheads. Before you sleep, remove your makeup using a cleanser and apply moisturizer.

  1. Cleanse your face

Whether you use makeup or not, cleanse your face before you go to bed. Exposure to dust, smoke and other factors can impact your skin. Use a cleanser or face wash to remove excess oil, makeup and grime.

  1. Get enough sleep

For proper functioning, your body needs to get enough sleep. While Teens need 8 to 10 hours of sleep each night, adults need 7 or more hours of good-quality sleep every night. Likewise, your skin also needs enough sleep to repair itself. If you sleep less than you should, it can result in the appearance of wrinkles and dark circles around the eyes. According to the National Sleep Foundation, insufficient sleep can increase inflammation, stress hormones, formation of acne, blackheads and so on.  Using comfy, silky pillows can improve sleep and also reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

  1. Stay hydrated

Drinking the right quantity of water can do wonders for your skin. Drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day can improve skin tone, and reduce wrinkles and other skin related issues.

  1. Don’t skip the moisturizer

For hydrated, healthy-looking skin, apply moisturizer before going to bed. Skin cells need water to survive and moisturizer boosts water levels in the skin. Without water, the skin can become dry and cause irritation, redness, and sensitivity. As your body goes into repair mode at night, this is the best time to use moisturizer as it can penetrate the skin for maximum results.

Following this skin care routine before bed can keep your skin radiant and smooth and improve your complexion. Keep in mind that regular exercise and a nutritious diet are also critical components of a skin care regimen.
